the cable you linked to is not "3.5mm to optical". When people refer to 3.5mm, they're talking about 3.5mm TRS (or TRRS) analog audio. That cable is optical (which is digital) on both ends. the only difference between the two sides is the connector type. One end is Toslink, which you find on the back of PC motherboards and on larger DACs.

The one case where a USB-to-aux cable would be useful for listening to music in a car involves a phone or MP3 player that has a micro or mini USB and no headphone jack. The problem is the M50 external mic plug is a 3.5mm jack while the Yeti is a USB and it doesn't seem like a USB (male) to 3.5 mm (female) adapter exists for recording purposes. Does anyone know of a way to plug a Yeti into a 3.5 mm microphone jack? Or is there a Yeti mic with a 3.5 mm jack that I can buy instead? They don't make a 3.5mm mic
