So - what you do need to understand in first place is, that a 3.5 mm USB adapter is not electrically wired straight through like USB-port headphone jack, but rather USB-port headphone jack as you need something to convert from a digital bus (USB) to an analog system interfacing your headphones.

The problem is the M50 external mic plug is a 3.5mm jack while the Yeti is a USB and it doesn't seem like a USB (male) to 3.5 mm (female) adapter exists for recording purposes.
